Why Are You Afraid Of The New Spam Laws?

© 2003 AdsMarket Ezine Advertising Network

The online publishers world is shaking. Can you believe its reason? Spam laws entered or will enter into force.

So what?

Since when honest people are afraid of the laws???

I'm very disappointed by my fellow publishers and ad co-op owners.

If the law stating the punishment for the thieves will be amended and the detention period will be extended, will you my dear reader be afraid of something? Will you start to bother your friends and business customers because of this law amendment? I hope not. Why not? Because you're an honest person, so ... WHY to be AFRAID of a LAW and WHY to DISTURB everybody?

Then why honest people as the publishers are, who are working very hard to satisfy their subs, are shaking so bad because of some laws? And not only shaking, but even OFFENDING their subscribers and/or customers!

Is the word "offending" not appropriate? Let's see ...

Many ad co-ops ask the advertiser to subscribe to the ezines that WILL PUBLISH HER/HIS AD. So far nothing strange. The advertiser WANTS to pay a cheaper price in exchange of subscribing to certain ezines that will publish her/his ad. If the advertiser is aware the ezines will publish her/his ad, isn't it very clear that she/he is aware that those ezines publish adverts? Isn't it very clear that the advertiser is expecting to see ads and is WILLING to see very soon the ads (including her/his ad)? Does anybody think that the advertiser will sue you because you published WHAT SHE/HE WANTED TO SEE??? Do you think that any jury or judge will convict you because you offered to the advertiser what she/he wanted?

If I will tell you I want something from you, I will really feel offended if you will ask me to state that I agree to not sue you for providing me what I asked for.

I saw publishers asking their subscribers to re-subscribe within a couple of days otherwise they will no longer receive the ezines. Since 2001 I am subscribed to many ezines. I WAS OFFENDED when some of the publishers asked me to re-subscribe because of the new laws. You know why? It was like the publisher is saying:

"You were my loyal reader during the past years, you supported me, you encouraged me when I was weak, but all this doesn't matter. I'm afraid you will sue me and that's why I want your statement to protect me and to guarantee that you won't do it!"

Isn't it offending?

What is one of the main purposes of these spam laws? To stop the not honest actions of your competitors, my dear publishers and advertisement sellers!!! Not to make you quit this job or offend your friends and customers!

Think about. Please ...
